Curtain Alterations

As you can imagine, like clothes, all curtains are not made equal, so prices are dependant on many factors, for example, the fabric, linings, the width of the curtains and how the curtains are made, for example, gathered tape top, tab top, pleated top or eyelets.

Normally I would alter curtains from the top but obviously in some circumstances this is not possible, for example, eyelet or tab top curtains, or wide curtains that have been previously gathered with the curtain tape, and the threads cut, so as to make unpicking and reapplying impossible. In these cases, as in some others, the alteration will involve cutting & hand sewing the hem.

Hem up/down, unlined, machine stitched - £60

Hem up/down, lined, lining machine stitched, main fabric hand sewn - £80

Hem up/down, lined, take header tape off & replace (only available if tape hasn’t been pulled already) - £60

Add header tape or renewing existing - dependant on type and width of tape, and width of curtains

Replacing sun damaged lining - dependant on type of lining required, for example, lightweight cotton, blackout, thermal, blackout with an additional thermal (bump) lining
